IR CONNECT
IR Connect is a networking platform that aims to connect implementation research (IR) professionals to enable collective sharing, learning, and building. It seeks to tap into the experience and aspirations of alumni of the TDR postgraduate training programme focused on IR from seven institutions across the globe. It envisions a sustainable platform for building a rich and collaborative community of practice augmented by a shared vision of a healthier future.
Building a rich community of practice
The IR Connect platform promotes active engagement amongst members through sharing of lessons learned from implementation research and the exchange of resource materials related to IR. As we build this community of practice, we hope this will spark research collaborations and partnerships within and across regions.
Managing and mentoring
Identifying community leaders among the alumni who can promote continuous engagement and discussions is a significant intent of the platform. Connecting members to senior leaders and subject matter experts in the field to facilitate mentoring and continuous support consecrates the larger vision.
About the TDR Postgraduate
Training Scheme
The postgraduate training scheme provides a full academic scholarship in collaboration with seven universities in low- and middle-income countries. Students obtain master’s degrees focused on implementation research on malaria, tuberculosis and neglected tropical diseases. Since 2015, more than 250 students from across Africa, Latin America and Asia have participated in the training scheme.
